TCC Vision
The vision could not be much simpler…

That simple phrase guides our church’s actions. Biblically, it just makes sense.
- The statement mirrors the “greatest commands” given by Jesus in Mark 12:29-31
- The statement mirrors the commitment to Jesus described in Galatians 2:20
- The statement mirrors the importance of love outlined in 1 Corinthians 13
Our goal is to align every ministry and program of the church with this statement. It simply describes the attitude we have as we pursue our mission of exalting Jesus Christ by reaching people, connecting and equipping them to love God and serve others.
Those who undertake this vision are expected to grow in their spiritual maturity (experiencing God and becoming conformed to His will), and they are expected to exalt Jesus in their heart, words, and actions.
To best fulfill this mission, we encourage everyone involved in our church to get connected in a group of some kind. Groups vary by composition (age, stage of life, interest, gender, etc) and by focus (Bible study, fellowship, service, etc). In groups, we have the opportunity to share and discuss our faith, as well as to model the kind of life that Christ wants and to see that life modeled in others. Groups allow us to practice the many “one another” commands in Scripture (love one another, be kind to one another, pray for one another, etc).
Organization
Tonganoxie Christian Church is organized along the principles of New Testament church leadership. We are a self-governing church (meaning that we do not report to any larger denomination), with Jesus as our Head. Elders and deacons serve in leadership roles, and ministry teams have been established to implement many of the church’s ministries. Our paid staff report to theĀ elders.
Elders
Elders are chosen from within the church body and may serve for two consecutive three-year terms. The senior minister is the only paid elder.
Deacons
Deacons are chosen from within the church body and may serve for two consecutive one-year terms.
Staff
Paid staff are hired by the elders to further the mission of the church. Staff report to the elders and renew their contracts annually. For more information about our staff, click here
Ministry Teams
Ministry teams are comprised of volunteers (including elders, deacons, and staff) who organize and serve in their respective areas. For a complete list of ministry teams, click here
