The following are core values and plumblines for Tonganoxie Christian Church. We believe that these items are foundational elements of the Christian faith. The truths listed are the truths you will hear preached and taught at our church.
We value God.
We love God, who is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. We love His Word and His Creation. Genesis 1:26; Matthew 22:27
We value people.
All people matter to God, therefore they matter to us. Evangelism is our priority. Luke 15
We value truth.
The Bible is the ultimate truth and is taught in relevant and life changing ways. 2 Timothy 3:16
We value spiritual growth.
Discipleship is the process of making fully devoted followers of Christ. John 15:1-8
We value character.
Living a life of integrity, responsibility and commitment best reflects Christ. Romans 5:3-5; Hebrews 13:5
We value community
Life change happens best in the church. Acts 2:42-47
We value relevance.
We will be culturally relevant while remaining doctrinally pure. 1 Corinthians 9:20-22
We value worship.
We provide God honoring and relevant worship experiences. Isaiah 29:13; John 4:23-24
We value prayer.
Prayer is our primary communication with God. 1 Thessalonians 5:17; Philippians 4:6-7
We value ministry.
Every member must be equipped for and involved in ministry. 1 Corinthians 12:27; Ephesians 4:11-13
We value excellence.
We bring honor to God by doing all things with excellence. Colossians 3:23
We value unity.
In essentials unity, in matters of opinion liberty, but in all things love. Ephesians 4:3
We value a heart of compassion.
We demonstrate Christian love toward all people. John 15:12
We value an attitude of grace and kindness.
We seek to clothe ourselves in humility, kindness and grace. Colossians 3:12
