Younger Adult StudyGroup – Begins Sept 13

If you consider yourself a “young” adult, you are invited to join a new StudyGroup that will start on Sunday, September 13 at 9:15 a.m. in room 210.  We will dig into the word and challenge each other to be sold out for Jesus.  For more information, call Steve Howell at (785) 760-0315.

Family United Night – Starts August 26

Family United Night (F.U.N.) is back! Mark your calendars for Wednesday nights this fall, August 26-November 18. We will have meals served at 5:30 p.m. ($3 per adult/ $2 per child/ $10 maximum per family), and we will have elective groups meeting from 6:30-7:45 p.m. for the entire family.

Thessalonians Paul’s insightful letters, filled with truths to live (Steve Howell)
Financial Peace Dave Ramsey’s program to manage God’s blessings (The Beemans)
P.L.A.C.E. Discover and use the unique spiritual gifts God has given you (Michael Smith)
Stepping Up (Women) Beth Moore’s look at the ascension Psalms (Ann Stoll)
Philippians (Men) Biblical study with application for men (Kevin Wade)

LifeGroups Be the body of Christ. Meet with others to place your focus on Jesus and encourage one another. Groups will form and be given basic instructions on the first night (8/26)

• Basic Christianity – Cover some of the basics of the Christian faith. Great for new Christians, or as a refresher for experienced Christians (Dirk Scates)
• Song of Solomon – Romantic relationships affect everyone… discover the Biblical perspective with a study of this book from the Old Testament (DVD by Tommy Nelson; Led by Steve Howell)
• Esther (Women) – It’s tough being a woman! The OT story of Esther is a profile in courage that contains many parallels for modern women. (DVD by Beth Moore; Led by Lea Mielke)
• Basic Car Maintenance (Men) – Christian fellowship plus practical skills (Kenny Hardy)

Returning/Continuing Classes

• Scripture Memory – Put God’s word in your mind and heart (Jack Dunham)
• Quilting (Women) – Christian fellowship plus practical skills (Amber Smith)
• Prayer – Spend time in prayer for the members and leaders of the church (Hiede Cokely)

The Essentials

Sundays, Beginning January 11.

Open to all ages and levels of faith

Certain truths are essential to the Christian faith. Learn the foundational elements of the Bible, doctrine, Christian living, and Jesus in this weekly class. Beginning with doctrine, we will study the basics of one subject each quarter. This is a great class for everyone – new or experienced, young or old. Come discover (or rediscover) the most important parts of Christianity!
